*For my Theater Journal*
Ms.Pat taught us the Suzuki method today. As far as I've known it is one of the several music teaching methods found, and originated in Japan because I remembered stumbling upon the word when I was reading the Tiger Mother.
I think the Suzuki method taught us that we can actually learn from our surroundings/environment. Ms.Pat taught us how to ground ourselves,by bending our legs slightly so we can stabilize them, and to maximize our concentration in breathing.
The central point in the body now moves to the abdomen, and not the face.
At the beginning, we were asked to stomp our feet firmly on the ground and march around the room with some really good music that made me wanna move to the beat.
Then we were suppose to recite Life's Brief Candle while stomping and later while skipping.
Trying to compare which action projected our voice better.
After a few tries we all agreed that stomping did seemed to project our voice better.
Later, we were asked to form a line and walked slowly.
And...im now currently too lazy to type so I'll just to this for my own sake :
- ZEN
-CONCENTRATION
-POSE
-RECITE
-LOOK STRAIGHT
-TEAMWORK, IN LINE
-SLOW
-CONTROLLING TIME
-BREATHING
-STEPS
-FEET
-POSE TELLING A STORY?
-SERENITY
And I shall write it all out in pen soon !
Toodles.
